Play With Us

Whether you are picking your instrument back up after years away or you have never stopped playing, there is a chair for you. No audition, no pressure, just a room full of people who love to make music together on Wednesday nights.

We rehearse year-round and especially welcome strings, oboes, and horns. New players simply come sit in, and you can play a full concert cycle before deciding to become a member.

The weekly rehearsal is the heart of what we do. If you cannot make a particular concert, you are still welcome to come play.

About the Orchestra

The NewWSO is a non-audition community ensemble under the direction of Maestro Steven Huang. As a 501(c)(3), we offer amateur instrumental musicians in and around Westchester County an opportunity to build musicianship in a supportive, noncompetitive setting while practicing and performing significant orchestral works.

Founded in 2011, the orchestra has grown into a group of more than fifty active players who rehearse every week in White Plains and perform three concerts a season, along with holiday and community events across Westchester.
